Founded by experts with deep roots in national security and top-end Silicon Valley giants, and a passion for innovation, we bring a fresh, disruptive approach to the cyber landscape. Our Story

Cyber 429 was born out of a vision to reimagine how cybersecurity is taught, experienced, and delivered. Founded by educators, practitioners, and innovators, we saw a gap between traditional academic programs and the rapidly evolving needs of organizations facing real-world threats. Our story begins at William Jewell College, where a unique ecosystem of classroom learning, hands-on labs, and a student-led Security Operations Center sparked an idea: what if we could take this model further and scale it to serve schools, nonprofits, and businesses everywhere?

From that vision came Cyber 429—a consortium of experts, students, and partners dedicated to building cybersecurity talent and resilience. We blend world-class instruction with real-time operational experience, giving students a pathway to meaningful careers while providing affordable, high-quality security services to the communities that need them most.

We also believe cybersecurity should never be a privilege for a few. Education, tools, and protections must be accessible to all—from high school students beginning their journey, to small businesses and nonprofits that lack the resources for enterprise-level defenses.
